B/alt Loyalty Scheme – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between Bakery Alternative Ltd (“B/alt”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and you (“you”, “your”) in relation to your participation in the B/alt Loyalty Scheme (“Scheme”). By clicking the “ACCEPT” button below or using Scheme our mobile application (“App”) or our website you agree to these Terms which will bind you. If you do not agree to these terms do not use our App which you should delete from your device. Please read them carefully before participating. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not enrol in or continue to use the Scheme.

3. Eligibility and Registration

The B/alt Scheme is open to all individuals aged 16 years or older who are residents of the United Kingdom. Participation in the Scheme is free of charge and requires either downloading the B/alt Mobile App or registering an account via our website. Only one account may be registered per person. Multiple accounts created using different email addresses or details may be deactivated or merged at our discretion. By registering, you confirm that all personal information provided to us is accurate and up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details. The Scheme is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

4. System Requirements

To use the App, you must have a compatible mobile device. The App requires:

An IOS or Android mobile device with a minimum amount of 27.9MB of memory for the Android device and 55.3 MB for IOS users. The operating system, version required is version 5.1 for Android devices or a minimum of version 6.4 for IOS users.

You are responsible for ensuring your device meets these requirements. We are not liable for any issues arising from incompatibility or failure to meet these specifications.

5. Account Management and Security

You are responsible for ensuring the security of your account and any device used to access it. If you suspect unauthorised access or fraudulent use of your account, you must notify us immediately. B/alt reserves the right to suspend or close any account suspected of misuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms. B/alt is not responsible for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised access resulting from your failure to keep your account credentials secure. We are not responsible for other websites you link to via our App or our website. These websites are outside of our control, and we are not responsible for their content, functionality or privacy practices. You will need to make your own independent judgement about whether to use any such independent sites, including whether to buy any products or services offered by them.

6. Earning Stamps and Rewards

You will earn one (1) stamp for every completed Hot drink transaction made in-store, online, or through the B/alt Mobile App. Stamps will only be applied once payment has been completed. To prevent fraudulent activity, stamps cannot be earned on transactions made within 15 minutes of a previous stamped transaction. Only qualifying purchases are eligible for stamps. Excluded items include, but are not limited to gift cards, delivery charges, bag fees, non-food merchandise, and other excluded products, as well as orders placed through third-party delivery partners.

To earn stamps:

In-store you must present your QR code from the App to be scanned at the till.

Online customers must log in using the same email address linked to the Scheme.

Transactions made using Guest Checkout will not earn stamps. If you forget to scan your QR code, you may contact our Customer Experience Team within 30 days of the transaction and provide a valid receipt. We cannot credit stamps without proof of purchase. Stamps and rewards are personal to each account holder and cannot be transferred, sold, or combined with another account.

7. Reward Types and Validity

Rewards are issued automatically when you meet the required number of stamps, as detailed in the Explanation of the Scheme document. Rewards may include, but are not limited to, free beverages, discounts on our products, or other promotional offers. Once issued, each reward will appear in your account and remain valid for two (2) months from the date of issue. Expired rewards will be automatically removed from your account and cannot be reinstated. Rewards cannot be exchanged for cash or substituted, except at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to modify, withdraw, or replace rewards from time to time.

8. Checking Balances and Errors

You may view your stamp and reward balance at any time through the App. We reserve the right to correct any balance errors arising from system faults or human error. If you believe your account balance is incorrect, you must contact us within 14 days of becoming aware of the error. Supporting evidence such as receipts may be required.

9. Redeeming Rewards

Rewards may be redeemed in-store or online, depending on the reward type. In-store redemptions require you to show your valid digital reward voucher from the App at the time of purchase. Rewards are redeemable only at participating B/alt cafés and cannot be redeemed with third-party delivery partners. Only one reward may be redeemed per transaction, unless expressly stated otherwise. Rewards are subject to availability and menu variations. There is no cash or credit alternative for rewards.

10. Scheme Limitations and Misuse

We do not guarantee that the Scheme or the App will be operational or accessible at all times. Temporary unavailability due to maintenance, system failures, or network issues may occur without notice. We are not liable for any missed stamps or redemption opportunities caused by technical issues. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account engaged in fraudulent activity, including but not limited to attempting to redeem unauthorised rewards, using multiple accounts to gain advantage, manipulating app functionality, or misrepresenting purchase activity.

11. Scheme Suspension or Withdrawal

We reserve the right to suspend, modify, or terminate the Scheme at any time on reasonable notice to you. Notice of suspension or withdrawal will be provided via email or published on our website. Upon termination, all outstanding stamps and unredeemed rewards will become void. We will not be liable for compensation or reimbursement of any kind resulting from termination or withdrawal of the Scheme.

12. Cancellation by the Customer

You may cancel your B/alt Scheme account at any time by contacting our Customer Experience Team in writing. Upon cancellation, all unused stamps and rewards will be permanently deleted and cannot be reinstated. Account deletion is irreversible and may affect your ability to use other B/alt digital services linked to the same account.

13. Data Protection and Privacy (GDPR)

We collect and processes personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. By joining the Scheme, you consent to the processing of your personal information for purposes including account registration and maintenance, allocation of stamps and rewards, communication of Scheme updates and offers, and fraud prevention. Your data will be handled in accordance with the B/alt Privacy Policy, available at www.baltbakery.com/privacy.

14. Liability

We are liable for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our failure to comply with these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any matter where exclusion would be unlawful under English Law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you under or in connection with the Scheme shall not exceed the total value of rewards currently available in your account. B/alt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business, or opportunity. The Scheme is provided for personal and domestic use only. Business or commercial use is prohibited. We recommend backing up data on your device. We are not liable for data loss or if the App or website does not meet your individual needs. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control but will take reasonable steps to minimise their impact. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

15. Breach, Suspension and Termination

If you breach these Terms, we may, in our sole discretion, issue a written warning, temporarily or permanently suspend your account, forfeit your stamps and rewards, or recover damages or costs arising from the breach, or report the matter to law enforcement authorities. Any fraudulent, abusive, or dishonest activity may lead to immediate account termination without notice. If your rights to use your account end you must stop using the App immediately. You must delete all copies of the App from your devices and confirm this to us. We may remotely remove the App and disable access to your account via our website.

16. Changes to These Terms

B/alt may update or amend these Terms periodically. Any material changes will be communicated via email or within the App with at least 30 days’ prior notice, unless a shorter period is required by law. If you do not agree with the amended Terms, you may cancel your account; however, all unused stamps and rewards will be forfeited upon cancellation.

17. Licence Restrictions

You agree that you will:

  • not rent, lease, sub-license, loan, provide or otherwise make available the App your account in any form, in whole or in part, to any person without prior written consent from us, except during permitted sharing.
  • not copy the App, our website, or any of our documentation or services except as part of the normal use of the App or website or where it is necessary for the purpose of back-up or operational security.
  • not to modify, adapt, merge or incorporate the App or website into other software, except as required for permitted use.
  • not to reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the App or the website, unless allowed by law and only if:
    • the information is kept secure and used solely for the purpose;
    • it is not disclosed without our consent;
    • it is not used to create similar software.

18. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the App or the website in any unlawful manner, for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with these Terms, or act fraudulently or maliciously, for example, by hacking into or inserting malicious code, such as viruses, or harmful data, into the App, or website or any operating system or in breach of these Terms.
  • infringe our trade mark or our other intellectual property rights or any third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • transmit defamatory, offensive, or objectionable content via our App or our website.
  • damage, disrupt, or interfere with our computer systems, security, or other users.
  • collect data from the App or the website or attempt to access or decipher transmissions to or from our servers.

19. Intellectual and Property Rights

The intellectual property rights in the App or our website throughout the world belong to us or our licensors. These rights are licensed to you, not sold. You have no rights in or to the App or the website other than the rights to use them in accordance with these Terms.

20. General Provisions

Each clause of these Terms operates separately. If any clause is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses shall remain in full force and effect.

No failure or delay by us to exercise any right or remedy shall constitute a waiver of that right or remedy.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your participation in the and supersede any prior terms or communications.

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. We will always tell you in writing if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not affect your rights under this Terms. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms.

21. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim related to these Terms or the Scheme. Nothing in these Terms affects your right as a consumer to rely on mandatory provisions of local law.
